The Suunto EON Steel is Suunto’s latest offering to the dive computer market. Suunto have moved away from the classic circular design of their Puck and D-Series style computers and have instead gone for a sleek square appearance. The EON is made with a stainless steel chassis, new Xensation glass that is extremely scratch and impact resistant, ensuring that the EON can take the bumps and knocks that are inevitable when diving. The most noticeable new feature is the Suunto BrightSee colour display, providing exceptional clarity even in the most difficult diving conditions.
Aquanauts were lucky enough to take a pre-production Suunto EON Steel diving out of Plymouth. The screen is indeed extremely clear and setup is simple. When set to air mode you can simply strap the EON to your wrist and go diving.
