If you haven’t experienced Plymouth Diving, then you’ve missed out!

If you haven’t experienced Plymouth Diving then we think you have you have missed out. From World War II  shipwrecks, and massive underwater cliffs falling away to extreme depths with amazing visibility to gentle reefs full of marine life. The variety is amazing, there is just so much to choose from on dive sites of Plymouth, and we think Aquanauts is the best dive centre to experience this great diving with!

Our approach here is a simple one, we aim to give the service that we would like to receive as divers, whether that’s in the shop, on the boat or via our on line store (we call it local service over the internet). From humble beginnings in 1986, we are now a full service dive centre next to Sutton Harbour Marina and our hard boat ‘Outcast’, just 50m away. We are the only National Geographic Dive Centre, PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre, and the only official Global Underwater Explorers (GUE) Dive Centre in Devon or Cornwall, making us the highest rated dive centre in the Southwest of England. This means we can meet the equipment, training and diving needs of our customers, from the complete novice to the very experienced technical or DIR Diver.

Our showroom will give you a great choice of dive kit from snorkel packages to full scuba diving equipment sets and gas fills to 300 bar and we can also mix nitrox and tri-mix and is open 7 days a week. We are also very proud to be a Fourth Element test centre, a Scubapro showroom dealer and a Halcyon test centre, so can offer ‘try before you buy’ on many items including the full range of Suunto dive computers. Reflecting the hands on experience and knowledge of the team here in the recreational, technical and cave diving realms we are also a centre of excellence for technical dive gear, made to measure drysuits and DPV’s (underwater scooters)

We have worked hard to make Aquanaut’s online store one of the best value in the country and be the only UK online retailer to offer free shipping on all purchases. We operate a dive equipment price match guarantee – and cannot be beaten on price, so if you see something for sale anywhere in the UK cheaper, we’ll match it. We put together equipment packages, dive reg bundles, deals on dive computers and BCD packages as part of our ‘ready to dive’ range, which is just the sort of kit we would like to see together.

We are also a great location to do your GUE fundamentals or PADI class as we can dive no matter the weather conditions with private access to a local inland quarry dive site, local shore diving sites, our own private swimming pool, classroom and our own hard boat. This means we can teach courses in calm easy conditions, making Aquanauts one of the best places in the UK for students to gain experience in a wide range of environments.

It’s renowned as some of the best and most varied in the country with up to 20m inshore visibility from March to early June, and an average of 5-8m during the summer, we’re an excellent dive location. If you can dive further offshore or on our deeper sites visibility is normally even better up to 40m on some days out at Eddystone and Hands Deep.

Did you know we have more wrecks per mile of coastline around Plymouth than anywhere else in the rest of the world?

Our new boat ‘Outcast’ is a great way to get to up to 12 fully kitted up divers to the sites in comfort, whether it’s on one of our scheduled dive trips or a dive charter for your friends or club. It’s one of the largest dive boats in Plymouth with plenty of space for kitting up and a lift to make getting out of the water a breeze.

So why not give us call for your next charter or dive course and come and visit our online store. We look forward to hearing from you!

Safe diving in 2012
